MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER
SHEILA KEMP

We are finally in our new building. I can't begin to tell you how very proud I am of it. It has been a stressful past year, to say the least, but now that it is all done, I know that it was worth every sleepless night I spent. I know I was somewhat obsessed with it all (some might say possessed might be a better description), and I talked about it A LOT and worried about every detail even more than I talked about it. Thank you for listening to me and understanding because you knew it was all because I wanted the very best for your babies. I want to thank all of our wonderful clients for their patience, encouragement and words of wisdom. Even though I know you had to get tired of my constant chatter about the new building, no one ever once seemed to be bothered by it. I have always known we had some extraordinary clients, but our building/moving experience has shown me how kind and caring and generous you are. I feel very fortunate that a business I love has brought me not only four-legged babies that I adore, but their kind-hearted parents as well.

While I am thanking people, I want to thank my exceptional staff as well. They worked even longer hours than usual during this process and not one time did I ever hear any of them complain. They knew what had to be done, and they did it. They never let everything that was going on effect the care the babies received. Each and every one of them shares the same great love of animals that I have. I am blessed to have these women as employees, and I am blessed to have them as friends. My deepest thanks to every one of you for being able to "roll with the punches" and smile while you are doing it.

People always say you should do something you are passionate about, and you will be happy. I never truly understood that until I started working with animals. There is nothing more satisfying than to see a dog whose eyes were filled with fear become filled instead with love. Instead of running from you if they are frightened, they run toward you if something scares them because they have realized you will protect them. Instead of pulling away from you when you try to pet them, they place their head in your lap and know all is right in their world. To watch them go from tucking their tails timidly between their legs to wagging their tail so rapidly that in your mind you picture them being lifted into the air like a helicopter from the force of it. When they once fearfully entered the building, they bound joyfully in filled with anticipation of spending time with people they know love them as their own. This is the place where they are catered to and spoiled. We are their other family.

People who are not pet lovers may think we are extreme and maybe a little ridiculous. Let them think what they want to because my staff and I are dedicated to providing your pets a safe environment that is filled with love, happiness and good, old-fashion fun. We never forget for one second that you have trusted us with a member of your family.

I was born and raised in a small town in Georgia on a farm. My love of animals started early in life. My early years were difficult in many ways, and I always found comfort in spending time with the animals. I learned back then how deep an animal's love for you could run, and I learned what a gigantic source of comfort they could be! I believe they are here not only to bring us joy but also to teach us a multitude of things - loyalty, forgiveness and unconditional love are among those things. And if you don't believe they have a sense of humor, think again. I have seen animals whose personalities have been so comical; they could have easily had their own sitcom on television. They will make you laugh, and they will make you cry, and most of all, they will make you think. We are all better people for having them in our lives.

When I started this business I gave up anything that slightly resembled a normal life. I made a choice to make these animals the main focus of my life and sort of let the other pieces of my life fall wherever was left. Let me tell you - most of the time, the leftover area is almost nonexistent. It's a different life I live. I always consider the effect every decision I make will have on my business. My life is pretty limited as far as doing things most people consider normal such as having weekends and holidays off, working a 40 hour week (40 hours - that would be like being on a permanent vacation!), having time to just hang out with friends and family, having a day where I didn't worry about the business. Oh, I could go on and on, but I won't because I don't want you to think I am complaining. I'm not. I want everyone to realize just how much these animals mean to me. On the days that I am so tired, I don't know how I got up that morning, something will usually happen that makes me remember exactly why I got up that morning. I might be sitting on the ground watching a big dog, and he'll slowly begin to walk toward me. He'll take his big paw and put it on my shoulder. When our eyes meet I swear he says, "I know you are tired, but I sure do appreciate everything you do for me." Or a little one will crawl up in my lap and want me just to love her. When I look into her eyes, I see how very much she loves me. Those things make it all worth it. Suddenly, I don't feel quite as tired as I did a few minutes before.

More and more people are realizing the importance of having pets in our lives. Charlie's not "just a dog" anymore and Tiger's not just a way to keep mice away. They are valued members of our families. By letting them into our lives, our lives become filled with the day-to-day adventures of pet ownership. And anyone who has ever been a pet owner will tell you those days can be extremely interesting.

At Endless Love Pet Palace, your pets' happiness and well being are our number one priorities. Sometimes it's tough on them being away from their families especially the first time. We do everything possible to make their boarding experience enjoyable. We make them feel like they are being treated to a special gift because they are such good babies every time they stay with us. We monitor them throughout the day. We make sure they are eating, that they have clean bedding, that they aren't acting like they don't feel well, and we make sure they don't seem to be sad. We address any concerns we may have immediately. If they seem sad, they will get even more one-on-one time. We have found that a 15 minute rock in the rocking chair in the Meet N' Treat Lounge has been known to completely rock those blues away.
It is a big deal to us that you trust us to care for your babies, and believe me; we do not take that lightly. When you turn into our parking lot, we want your babies to know where they are and be excited to be here.

After we moved into our new building, I had a client ask me why I hadn't built indoor/outdoor kennels for the dogs. She asked, "Wouldn't that have made it easier on ya'll?" I told her that it would have indeed been much easier on us, BUT by building roomy, indoor kennels and taking the dogs out five times during the day and again in the evening, they get individual attention from someone throughout the day. I told her we weren't here to do what was easiest for us. We are here to do what is best for your baby. She started to grin and said, "And that is why we bring them to you and always will." It isn't about us. It IS about your babies.

I take great pride in Endless Love Pet Palace. We have all worked hard to build a solid reputation over the years, and we will never lower our high standards for any reason. We are here to serve you and your pets and happily take care of your pets' every want and need. We truly consider it a privilege to care for your animals.

You are welcome to drop by anytime, and we will take you on a complete tour of the building and our outside areas. We suggest that you bring your babies along for the tour so they may meet some of us and check out our accommodations for themselves. We understand if you need to have a private conversation with your baby after the tour so they will share their honest opinions with you. Our feelings will not be hurt. We want them to be happy wherever they stay.

Over the years I have met some extraordinary people with extraordinary pets. I have made great friends and shared many things with the people this business has brought into my life. I have watched pets grow old, and I have had to suffer the pain when it has been time to let one of these most precious babies leave us. I have cried with the parents when that time has come and felt the loss deep in my heart. There are no words I can say that can show the gratitude I feel toward our clients for sharing their babies with us. What I can say is each and every one of us at Endless Love Pet Palace will always continue to cherish our time with you and your babies, and we will always make each and every one of them feel like the most special baby on earth!!!
